Horizon 2020

Horizon 2020 is the new European framework programme for research and innovation for the period 2014 -2020. http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/

The total budget is 80 000 M€.

The Commission requires experts who are prepared to assiss with evaluation of applications and follow-up of projects. http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/horizon2020/en/experts

The programme has three main areas or pillars:

Calls are published in Work Programmes which are primarily for two years. Currently there are 19 such work programmes, which can be found at:

and look under funding opportunities.

Funding has been simplified within Horizon 2020 and in most cases covers 100% of direct costs + 25% overhead (but only 70% of direct costs to companies in innovation projects).
